3 missing, 300 families lose homes in Taguig fire

At least three children were reported missing while some 300 families face a homeless Christmas after a fire believed caused by an exploding liquefied petroleum gas tank razed a colony of informal settlers in Taguig City Sunday night, a radio report said.
Radio dzBB reported that the fire at the BCDA Compound in Ususan village started at 11 p.m. (Sunday) it was put out at 1:25 a.m. (Monday).
The report said that as of early Monday, residents and authorities are still looking for three children reported missing in the fire. The three were initially identified as Leo Ray and John Rainier Servano; and Benj Bacalso.
The resident named Walter Arcilla, who lost their homes to the fire, said he heard an explosion likely from the LPG tank at the house of one Ampalatin.
Arson investigators said at least 150 houses were damaged in the fire, the same radio report said.
On the other hand, at least three fire trucks were damaged while rushing to the scene.
